The 2026 Global EVOO Rankings have crowned their number one. With a score of 97.53, the early-harvest Picual from Aires De Jaén, grown in Jabalquinto in the province of Jaén, has been named the world's best extra virgin olive oil of the year.
The ranking is built from the scientific and sensory evaluation results of the olive oils assessed at the Berlin GOOA Awards, judged blind by an international panel of experts.
“On the nose, it reveals a very young and complex fruitiness, with elegant notes of green leaves, artichoke… On the palate, it delivers the same aromatic intensity, with a pleasant spiciness gently emerging in the throat, followed by a light, refined bitterness as it evolves.”
