Contest Rules:

2026 Berlin GOOA – Global Olive Oil Awards

  • Eligibility

    • Open worldwide to participants aged 18+.

    • Employees of Berlin Global Awards Media and related parties, and their families, are not eligible.

    • Contest is void where prohibited by law.

  • Agreement to Rules

    • By entering, participants agree to be bound by these rules and accept the organizers’ decisions as final.

  • Contest Period & Entry

    • Entries open September  1, 2025 and close March 31, 2026.

    • Entries must be submitted via berlingooa.com with accurate details.

    • Only one entry per product; fraudulent or incomplete entries may be disqualified.

  • Fees

    • Early registration: €200 per brand (September 1 – December 31,2025).

    • Standard registration: €250 for the first brand (January 1 – March 31, 2026).

    • Fees are non-refundable.

  • Eligible Products

    • Open to food producers, importers, distributors, and retailers.

    • Products must be suitable for human consumption and submitted in retail packaging with full labelling.

    • Certain products requiring special equipment or preparation may be excluded.

  • Product Analysis

    Product analysis is not mandatory to participate in the Berlin GOOA Awards. However, producers who wish to submit a product analysis are welcome to do so. Please find the relevant information below.

    • Extra Virgin Olive Oils require lab analysis (acidity, UV absorption, peroxide value).

    • Organic EVOO must include pesticide residue report.

  • Judging Process

    • Samples are blind-tasted in blue/red glasses, following COI standards.

    • Multi-level blind assessments ensure transparency (cross-panel tasting and repeat tastings).

    • Judges are unaware of brands and score via a secure online platform.

  • Delivery & Packaging

    • Products must be delivered by the communicated deadlines with official labels.

    • Participants are responsible for safe packaging and transport.

    • Damaged or late products may be disqualified.

  • Prizes & Winners

    • Awards: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze (non-transferable, no cash alternatives).

    • Winners notified by website/email within 5 days; must respond within 30 days.

    • Organizers may use winners’ names, images, and entries for promotional purposes.

  • Legal & Liability

    • Participants grant rights for promotional use of their entry.

    • Organizers not liable for technical failures, delays, or damages.

    • Contest governed by UK law (Buckinghamshire jurisdiction).

    • Privacy policy applies as per Berlin Olive Oil Awards Ltd website.
